This Privacy Policy explains how SpeakLink/ESLAN Services ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use SpeakLink (the "App").

  • Account information: basic account identifiers used for authentication and access control.
  • Profile settings: preferences you choose in the App (e.g., CEFR level, language settings, feedback mode).
  • Practice data: practice history, scores, and related metadata.
  • Audio recordings (if you record): recordings you choose to submit for scoring/feedback.
  • Technical data: device and usage information needed for reliability, security, and troubleshooting.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the App and its core features.
  • To personalize your experience (e.g., settings and recommendations).
  • To deliver scoring/feedback and generate audio where requested.
  • To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
  • To process subscriptions and manage membership access.

3. Third-party services

We may use third-party providers to operate the App and deliver features, including:

  • Supabase (authentication, database, storage)
  • Microsoft Azure (pronunciation assessment)
  • AWS Polly (text-to-speech audio generation)
  • Payment processor(s) for subscriptions (if enabled)

These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the App. Their handling of data may be governed by their own policies.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers who help us run the App.
  • If required by law or to protect rights and safety.
  • In connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger or sale).

5. Data retention

We retain information only as long as needed to provide the App and meet legal, security, and operational requirements. You can request deletion through Support (subject to legal and technical limits).

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
